► THE WITCH CHILD
"I’m the Witch Child. They’d better listen to me."
NAME: Iliana Dominick (Harman)
GENDER: Female
CIRCLE: Daybreak
CURRENT LOCATION: Las Vegas
SPECIES: Witch and Wild Power
AGE/BIRTHDAY: 19/June 30th
SOULMATE: Unknown
SIBLINGS: Alex Dominick, brother ; Raksha Keller, blood-bond sister
RACE/ABILITIES: Witch/Wild Power
Witches, though mortal, have a wide variety of abilities including: spell casting, potion making, energy channeling, astral projection, aura reading, divination, astrology, cartomancy, clairvoyance, intuition, palmistry, premonitions, psychometry, rune reading, scrying, tassomancy, empathy, levitation, longevity, mind control, telekinesis, telepathy, teleportation, and transfiguration. They also exhibit varying ranges of elemental control, which allows them to manipulate and control the four elements: earth, wind, fire, and water.
Though Iliana has the potential to develop and strengthen all of these abilities, especially as a Harman witch and the Witch Child, most of her focus has gone into learning to harness of her Blue Fire.
As a Wild Power, Iliana can use this blue fire to either heal or destroy. She's able to wield it with discretion, either focusing it on or sparing specific subjects.
PERSONALITY: A gentle soul, Iliana comes from a long line of Harman witches. She is incredibly forgiving, giving, bubbly, and sweet, often thinking about other people long before she worries about her own needs. She's often considered to be extremely naive, which isn't completely off base. But Iliana prefers to look at the glass half full and is always trying to find the good in a situation, person, and/or thing. It wouldn't be wrong to describe her as wearing "rose-colored glasses".
In contrast to Keller, Iliana is very kitten-like, with a willowy frame and practically white blonde hair. Though she doesn't give the impression of being fierce or a worthy adversary, Iliana does have a steel core that comes out when people she cares about are in trouble. She's proven herself to be selfless, both in facing her fear of blood (to try to activate her blue fire) and in giving up any claim to Galen because she knew Keller loved him.
Though she has a pretty important role in the upcoming war, Iliana spends an unreasonable amount of time daydreaming, painting her nails, and worrying about clothing. She's a hopeless romantic who's beginning to lose hope that she'll ever find her own prince, especially since she isn't exactly allowed to meet new people. Due to her current status of being a protected Wild Power, she can be a little whiny about it, almost constantly wheedling to be let out and socialize. She practically lives for any Daybreak functions that allow her interact with more people.
Even though she can come across as a bit bratty and more than a bit naive, Iliana, deep down, does take her job seriously. She doesn't want anything bad to happen to her family or friends and worries that, when the time comes, she won't do her job right or simply won't be good enough. So, while she does spend a lot of time with vapid pursuits, she also spends a lot of it training and working on her blue fire mastery and witchcraft.
HISTORY: Iliana was born into a long line of Harman witches, though both she and her mother, Anna, are considered "lost" witches, not knowing of their true heritage until members of the Night World intervened.
It wasn't until she was seventeen years old that she discovered her true heritage. Before that, she was a typical, bubbly teenager, who was a little flighty, a little bit of an airhead, and a little bit too innocent for her own good. She grew up in a happy, healthy family, thinking that life, and the world, was completely normal. And Iliana liked it like that. Never one to think badly about anyone or anything, she never could have prepared herself for being attacked in a local Hallmark when she was seventeen.
That was when she met Raksha Keller, Nissa Johnson, Winnie Arlin, and Galen Drache. The former three had been sent to protect her once Circle Daybreak concluded she was the third Wild Power, the latter was prophesied to be her betrothed and the person she would end the feud between the witches and shapeshifters with.
Iliana was simply unable to believe any of this, vehemently (or at least as vehemently as her elfin, gentle Iliana was capable of) denied it, and insisted that everyone was wrong about her. However, Galen did seem to be the one sparkle in the whole mess. Gentle and full of light himself, Galen seemed to be perfect for her... at least until Iliana realized that Keller and Galen were soulmates.
Ultimately, Iliana used her blue Wild Power fire to destroy the dragon sent by the Night World to kill her. She also reimagined the prophecy and, instead of marrying Galen, performed a blood ritual with Keller, uniting the houses of the shapeshifters and witches while still allowing Galen and Keller to be together. Almost painfully unselfish, while it hurt Iliana to give Galen up, she was happy to do it for Keller, a person she idolized and admired.
In the time since, Iliana stayed in hiding with Keller and her group, mostly against her will, since she would have liked to be able to do the same 'normal' stuff as everyone else. That was, of course, impossible, though Iliana would have liked to think that nothing bad could happen to her and was positive that Keller was simply too over-protective.
ACTIVITIES SINCE WITCHLIGHT: Iliana has been left in the care of Keller, Galen, Winnie, and Nissa and moved around to various Daybreak safe houses for her own safety. She's has a few close calls, but feels so safe with her "crew" that she seems to think that they're making a whole lot of fuss about nothing. Illy's been kind of a pain in the neck, complaining about being cooped up, but, really, there isn't a group of people she'd rather be with.
She's also been working her butt off on learning to use her blue fire and learning to be a witch, since she's about 17 years behind on her training.
